  2. Sophomore studio album from London's prost-punk progenitors Wire. Chairs Missing was originally recorded in and featured a slightly less austere sound than the band's debut, Pink Flag.
  3. Wire’s first three albums need no introduction. They are the three classic albums on which Wire’s reputation is based. Moreover, they are the recordings that minted the post-punk form. This was adopted by other bands, but Wire were there first. These are the definitive re-releases. Each album is presented as an page hardback book – the size of a 7-inch, but obviously much thicker.

  6. May 18,  · While Pink Flag may be the Wire album that crops up in the best-of lists, the group’s sophomore LP is arguably an even more impressive statement. ’s Chairs Missing took the best of Wire’s trailblazing debut - jagged-edge guitar playing, yelped vocals, a leftfield ear for melody - and added some daring choices of instrumentation.
  7. Chairs Missing() is the second studio album by English band anasasatproguntrakineqovledcya.coinfo album retains some of the punk rock prevalent in their debut Pink Flag() but moves towards more intricate song.
  8. 'Chairs Missing' followed these oblique directions and those advanced by 'I am the Fly' and 'Dot Dash' - though at the time Wire were probably tagged prog by those who didn't understand (Magazine also suffered from this with their great second LP 'Secondhand Daylight'). 'Chairs Missing' these days seems to me one of the most influential albums, its blend of the angular, the avant, and something like pop /5(52).
